The following is an outline of the Helicopter Flight Training Program, additional programs may be included but not listed at this time.



- Initial Preparation for flight
Passenger safety, ELT, airport procedures, effects of controls, hovering, power & airspeed changes, start up & shutdown procedures, ground handling & hangar procedures, emergency readiness plan.

- Ground School
Airmanship, theory of flight, navigation, meteorology, air law, basic and advanced flight training exercises.
Approximately 200 hours

- Standard First Aid Course and CPR
Presented by qualified First Aid Personnel. Certificate awarded with successful completion.
2 days

- Chain Saw Safety and Tree Felling Techniques
Certificate awarded.
2 days

- Temporary and Permanent Helipad Construction Course
2 days

- Factory Allison Gas Turbine Engine Course (250 series)
Certificate awarded.
1 week

- Winter Survival Training Course
Certificate awarded.
1 week

- Global Position System (GPS) Course
1 day

- Bell 206 Airframe Course
Presented by Canadore College. Certificate awarded.

- Pilot Preparedness Program
Presented by Canadore College. Certificate awarded.
Two semesters

- Underwater Egress
