Becoming a Professional Pilot is challenging and exciting - but it also requires hard work and dedication. Hundreds of successful graduates are now employed as helicopter pilots in Canada as well as around the world. Ground school and flight training are designed to provide graduates with the skills and attitude necessary to operate helicopters efficiently and safely in remote and isolated locations throughout the world. The emphasis in our program is on professionalism and learning operational skills.
As a student in our Flight Training Programs, you can expect unparalleled instruction from some of the most experienced instructors in the aviation industry. All our Instructors are Transport Canada authorized, and as such maintain the highest standards of professional flying and instructional ability.
Our instructors have vast operational experience and have all worked in the field in a wide variety of helicopter operations. Our Chief Flight Instructor is one of the most experienced Helicopter Flight Instructor in Canada. Lavern Ross has been instructing for over thirty years in fixed wing and helicopters as well as being an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer. He is very well respected in the industry and this has been instrumental in helping our graduates find employment.
Our training fleet consists of Schweizer 300 piston helicopters - a helicopter designed and built for flight training; and Bell 206 turbine Jet Ranger helicopters - the most utilized helicopter in the industry.
The North Bay Airport is among the largest in Canada. The airport is equipped with a modern NAV Canada Flight Service Station, radar and all instrument approach aids.
The airport is located within minutes of rugged heavily forested land, ideal for helicopter training. The close proximity of the campus to the training areas ensures our students are not wasting valuable flying time getting to the practice areas.
